Manage Users

Last updated: September 30, 2026

What this does

Use Settings › Users to see everyone with access to your organization, invite new users, and manage their roles and access. Owners and Admins get the full page; other roles see the list without the management controls.

Invite someone

  1. Open Settings › Users. You'll see everyone with access to your organization, grouped as Active, Invited, or Deactivated.
  2. Click Invite user. The invite form opens.
  3. Enter Email. Their name is set the first time they sign in.
  4. Choose Role. Pick the level of access this person should have.
  5. Click Send invite. You'll see a confirmation, and the person appears under Invited.

Change someone's role

  1. Open Settings › Users and click the menu (⋮) next to their name.
  2. Click Change role, pick the new role, and confirm.

You can't change your own role — ask another Admin or the Owner to do it. You also can't assign the Owner role this way — use Transfer Ownership instead.

Resend or revoke an invite

While someone is still Invited (they haven't signed in yet):

  1. Open Settings › Users and click the menu (⋮) next to their name.
  2. Click Resend invite to send them a new sign-in link, or Revoke invite to remove them from the list. Revoking cannot be undone — invite the same email again later if you change your mind.

Deactivate or reactivate someone

  1. Open Settings › Users and click the menu (⋮) next to their name.
  2. Choose Deactivate or Reactivate, then confirm in the dialog. Deactivating cuts off their access within 15 minutes; the message that appears afterwards has an Undo button. Reactivating sends them a new sign-in code, unless they already signed in before.

The organization's Owner can't be deactivated (transfer ownership first), and nobody can deactivate their own account.

Edit someone's name

  1. Open Settings › Users and click the menu (⋮) next to their name (or your own row, for yourself).
  2. Click Edit details, update the name, and click Save.

Email can't be changed here — it's how the person signs in.

Transfer ownership

Transfer ownership lives in the Danger zone at the bottom of Settings › Organization, not on the Users page. Only your organization's current Owner can transfer ownership, and only to another active user who isn't already the Owner.

If something goes wrong

  • You see "That email already has a Call-E account." That email address already belongs to a Call-E account. Each email address can be part of one Call-E organization. Ask the person for a different email address, or contact support if they need to move organizations.
  • You don't see Invite user, or the row menu. Your role may not allow managing users. Ask an Owner or Admin to do it for you.
  • You see "Your organization has reached its user limit." This only happens for organizations with a configured limit. Deactivate someone who no longer needs access to free up a spot, or contact support to raise your limit.
  • An action fails. You'll see an error message explaining what went wrong. Most actions offer a Retry button, and a dialog you were using stays open so you can try again.
