Respond to a call type suggestion
Last updated: September 30, 2026
What this does
After some calls, Call-E notices the call type may not match what was actually said and shows a banner asking you to confirm or correct it. Clicking Yes, switch changes the Call Type. Call-E then attempts to regenerate Call Notes and any configured Call Scorecard. The Call Type stays changed even if regeneration is skipped, unavailable, or fails. Choosing No, current type is correct keeps the Call Type, Call Notes, and Call Scorecard unchanged. Leaving the banner open without choosing an option counts as unanswered.
Before you start
The banner appears whenever Call-E has a suggestion and you can change that appointment's Call Type. To respond, choose Yes, switch or No, current type is correct.
Steps
- Open a completed appointment. If Call-E has a suggestion, you'll see a banner near the top of the page: "This call may be a better match for [suggested type] than [current type] — switch? Here's why: [a short reason based on what was said on the call]."
- To accept it, click Yes, switch.
- To keep the current type, click No, current type is correct.
After you switch
- The appointment's call type changes to the suggested type.
- Call-E attempts to regenerate Call Notes against the new Call Type's instructions. Your existing notes stay on screen until a new version is ready, the same as after a manual Call Type change.
- If the newly selected Call Type has a Call Scorecard configured, Call-E attempts to regenerate it too. Your existing scorecard stays on screen until a new version is ready.
- The Call Type stays changed if either regeneration is skipped, unavailable, or fails.
- The banner disappears.
After you keep the current type
- The banner disappears and won't come back for this appointment — not if you revisit the page, and not if Call-E re-checks the call later.
- Nothing else changes. The call type stays exactly as it was.
Why your response helps
Responding either way — Yes, switch or No, current type is correct — gives Call-E a clearer picture of your calls and helps it make better call-type suggestions in the future. If you leave the banner without responding, Call-E treats the suggestion as unanswered instead of as a definite yes or no.
The suggestion never changes anything on its own
Call-E never switches your call type for you. The banner is only a nudge — until you click Yes, switch, the call type, Call Notes, and Call Scorecard all stay exactly as they are.
If something goes wrong
- "Couldn't switch the call type. Please try again." Check your connection and click Yes, switch again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
- "Couldn't save your feedback. Please try again." Check your connection and try again. If it keeps happening, contact support.
- "This suggestion is no longer active. Please refresh the page." The suggestion was already answered or the appointment's Call Type changed somewhere else. Refresh the page to see the current Call Type and available actions.
- The banner disappears without you clicking anything. This can happen if the suggested call type was removed from your organization's call types in the meantime. Nothing changed on your appointment — the suggestion just became stale and was cleared automatically.
