How Call-E works with Zoom cloud recordings
Last updated: July 17, 2026
What this explains
Call-E needs a Zoom cloud recording to capture a Zoom meeting and produce a recording, transcript, and Call Notes. It also produces a Call Scorecard when the Call Type has a scorecard configured.
This applies to Zoom meetings only. Microphone Recording uses a different Call-E flow and does not depend on Zoom.
What Call-E needs for Zoom meetings
For a Zoom meeting, Call-E can only process what Zoom makes available in the cloud after the meeting ends. A recording saved only to your computer is not enough for Call-E's automatic Zoom meeting capture.
When Zoom cloud recording is available, Call-E can capture the meeting after it ends and start preparing the transcript and Call Notes. It also prepares a Call Scorecard when the Call Type has a scorecard configured.
When Zoom cloud recording is not available, Call-E can still schedule or sync the Zoom meeting, but it cannot produce the recording, transcript, Call Notes, or any Call Scorecard configured for that meeting's Call Type.
What you may see in Call-E
If Call-E knows Zoom cloud recording is not available, it tells you in the product before you schedule:
- Your Zoom plan doesn't support cloud recording. Review Zoom's cloud recording requirements or Zoom's plans before choosing a plan.
- Cloud recording is turned off in your Zoom settings. Open Zoom recording settings and turn cloud recording on.
- Your Zoom recording settings are managed by your Zoom admin. Ask your Zoom admin to enable cloud recording for your account.
- Call-E can't confirm whether this Zoom account supports cloud recording. Reconnect Zoom from Preferences.
You can still schedule the Zoom meeting. Call-E asks you to acknowledge that it won't produce a recording, transcript, Call Notes, or any Call Scorecard configured for that meeting's Call Type.
After the meeting ends
If Zoom cloud recording was not available for the Zoom meeting, the appointment page shows Call-E did not capture this appointment.
That means the missing recording, transcript, Call Notes, and any configured Call Scorecard are final for that meeting. Changing your Zoom plan or settings later can help future Zoom meetings, but it cannot create a cloud recording for a past meeting that was not cloud-recorded.
Microphone Recording is different
If you use Microphone Recording in Call-E, Call-E records through your device microphone and processes that audio in Call-E. Zoom cloud recording settings do not apply to Microphone Recording.
